When we develop a relationship with someone, neural pathways form in our brain made up of object cells that form a physical representation of that person.
This makes so much sense! I still think, "R would love that joke, I must tell him" ~ I've a neural pathway associated with humour with my brother who died a while back. Another brother died last year and those same thoughts and associations aren't there at all. I enjoyed this piece.

My brother also died recently. This morning I thought, “Eric will get a kick out of this!” Sometimes those moments stop my heart with grief, but today, I smiled at the thought of him smiling at what I would have shared.
